Disinfection method: According to the bacterial culture of used toothbrushes by two dentists in the United States, after 4 weeks of continuous use, the new toothbrush contains various bacteria such as Candida albicans and hemolytic streptococcus, which can pass through blood vessels and lymph. The tube enters various organs and causes a variety of diseases, such as thrush, acute tonsillitis, pharyngitis, rheumatic fever, acute glomerulonephritis and so on. This is a potential threat to health.

In order to get rid of the pathogenic bacteria on the toothbrush, three effective disinfection methods are now introduced:

Used alternately. According to scientific research, certain pathogenic bacteria can die on their own after being fully exposed to the air for 1 week. This requires two toothbrushes to be used alternately for a week.

After each tooth brushing, apply a layer of high-efficiency bactericidal soap to the toothbrush, wash off the soap after 24 hours, and apply it after use.

Soak with 0.1% Xinjie Ermei or 0.1%~0.5% peracetic acid. After brushing your teeth, put the toothbrush into the container containing the above-mentioned disinfectant. The disinfectant should exceed the bristles of the toothbrush by a little, and you can wash it when you use it. Replace the disinfectant after 1 week.

Toothbrush is an indispensable oral hygiene tool in our daily life, but not everyone understands the maintenance of toothbrushes. Some people use toothbrushes for several years and do not change them. Some people put the toothbrush in a closed toothbrush box after brushing. Here, there are even two or three people sharing a toothbrush. These methods of using toothbrushes not only fail to clean the mouth, but become a source of oral bacteria. The correct maintenance method of toothbrush is as follows:

After brushing your teeth, wash them thoroughly with clean water. Not only should you wash away the residual toothpaste and food debris on the toothbrush, but also try to dry the water on the toothbrush. Put the toothbrush head up into the mouthwash cup and place it in a dry and ventilated place. Because damp toothbrushes tend to breed bacteria. Some scholars have found that whether it is a toothbrush of a healthy person or a patient, a large number of bacteria multiply on the toothbrush after one month of use. An unclean toothbrush not only causes inflammation of the gums, it is also a source of infection for many diseases.

Toothbrushes are mostly made of nylon filaments, which are easily deformed when heated, so they cannot be washed in high-temperature water, let alone sterilized by boiling. A toothbrush cannot be used for a long time. It is generally replaced every quarter, or when the bristles of the toothbrush are found to be curled and branched, it should be replaced in time to prevent the bristles from spurring the gums.

It is necessary to adhere to the principle of one toothbrush per person to avoid cross-spread of infectious diseases.
