Bamboo industry is a sunrise industry integrating ecological, economic and social benefits. Bamboo has the reputation of "Second Forest". The application of bamboo at home and abroad also has a long history. It can be seen that bamboo has a wide range of uses. Because of its slender fiber, it is suitable for making various high-quality pulps. In addition to papermaking, the main products of bamboo are bamboo plywood, bamboo flooring, bamboo and other products. In terms of bamboo utilization, China ranks first in the world in terms of the scale of production varieties and products, and the products are exported to foreign countries. 

During the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" period, the country’s bamboo industry has developed rapidly. The area of bamboo resources, product types and quantities have rapidly increased, and the scale of the industry has rapidly expanded. Significant progress has been made in the research and development of bamboo management, processing and comprehensive utilization. The process of bamboo industrialization has been significantly accelerated, and it has become the fourth forestry industry in China. As an important part of the terrestrial forest ecosystem, Dachaoyang industrial bamboo plays a very obvious role in reducing wood consumption, improving ecological functions and developing rural economy.

Under the situation of tight global timber supply, countries all over the world attach importance to the cultivation, development and utilization of bamboo resources, and bamboo products are becoming one of the important consumer products in developed countries and regions. my country is the world's largest exporter of bamboo products, while imports from Europe, the United States and Japan account for 49%, making it the main consumer market for bamboo products. Natural bamboo health products such as bamboo shoots and bamboo fungus in my country are very popular in the international market. my country's bamboo resource cultivation, processing and utilization technology leads the world and occupies a pivotal position in the global bamboo industry. At present, China's bamboo industry has formed a new industry with great potential and vitality from resource cultivation, processing and utilization to export trade, and then to bamboo eco-tourism.

With the implementation of China's policy of banning logging and returning farmland to forests, the contradiction between wood supply and demand has become increasingly tense, and it is feasible to implement "substituting bamboo for wood" in some areas. After the ban on logging of natural forests, China's timber supply will be reduced by about 200 million cubic meters per year. The gap between supply and demand is about 450 million cubic meters per year. As a construction material, every 60 bamboos can replace 1 cubic meter of wood. Bamboo flooring is a representative product of Chinese bamboo products. It is hard and wear-resistant and has fine texture. 

The ex-factory price per square meter is about 150 yuan and the raw materials only need 4 moso bamboo materials. The cost is about 40 yuan; bamboo charcoal is a new environmentally friendly material, and its anti-electromagnetic radiation ability, air purification ability, moisture regulation ability, etc. are getting more and more attention. Japan has to import nearly 4,000 tons of bamboo charcoal from China every year. Bamboo food has a huge market potential. The total annual output of fresh bamboo shoots in China is about 400,000 tons, while the national market capacity is about 500,000 to 3 million tons, and the export volume of bamboo shoots is only 3-5 per year. 

Ton, the international market demand is more than 500,000 tons, and the Chinese rare fungus bamboo fungus is in short supply in the international market. In recent years, bamboo leaf green pigments, bamboo leaf flavonoids, bamboo anti-corrosion and anti-fungal products and other high-tech bamboo products have been in short supply in the international market. The successful product development has created a new growth point for the traditional bamboo industry.
